I had post-op shoes, they feel like you are walking on a piece of wood, no give whatsoever. They were nice and light, so not a big deal when elevating and sleeping.

It sounds like you are doing pretty well, considering. Keep a positive attitude.

I was lucky enough to never get put into a boot. I had surgical shoes on both feet. I think it took about 3 weeks before I switched over to Crocs that were 2 sizes too big, and then when I went back to work, I was wearing Skechers slips on for a few weeks. Thankfully, I worked in a casual office, so wearing sneakers daily was not an issue.

Sounds like everything is progressing normally. Fingers crossed for that it continues that way!

Thanks! I got the shoe today. In general the boot is more protective so I think that why why some doctors use it. That plus more stability walking. I was a little disappointed in the shoe, well it’s more like a hard bottom Sandal. It’s just not that protective.so I think I’ll alternate as needed.

I pretty much was told to stay non weight bearing for 3 weeks. I think they are just on he safer side. Which I’m ok with.

My biggest issue has been swelling in the boot. Which can be debilitating. I don’t think I’m over swelling. Because honestly I have the foot up all day. But maybe just a width of foot thing. Or maybe I’m just over sensitive to swelling. Net appt is 12/31. Which is kind of the 3 week hump appointment. Hoping I see some bug swelling improvement in the next 5-9 days.
