Fun fact -- Che Guevara's grandmother was from Mexico, and he was 1/4 Irish. I like to think the Irish blood gave him a little extra luck on the battlefield here and there.

Perhaps, but he's arguably one of the most famous historical figures from Latin America, and he was 1/4 Irish -- a case and point that the region is much more racially diverse than the typical U.S. American thinks.

From Wikipedia: "Che Guevara, whose grandmother's surname was Lynch, was another famous member of this Irish diaspora. Guevara's father, Ernesto Guevara Lynch, said of him: 'The first thing to note is that in my son's veins flowed the blood of the Irish rebels'. However, Che Guevara considered himself Latin American, Argentine and Cuban, and his connection with Ireland was remote."

His connection with the world at large was remote.
He was just a psycho.
Yes, as famous as James Mason.
I don't think that the typical U.S. American knows that there are no Mexican peons in Argentina.

I used to read this forum, but i dont participe because my english is fair.

Let me tell you that im from Mexico. Is a lie that 9% of the popullation is white. Is around 3-4% of the mexican popullation who looks white. The 9% was taked of a census of 1921 in which the people was asked that if you consider that you are of "mexican race" that's all.

Most of the blondes in Mexico are just just but with indigenous facial characteristics.

Just the high class during years keep them white. My family had "haciendas" that are very very large lands and i descend of spanish settlers since 19th. century.

I live in Mexico City and if you are not in a rich hood will gonna be very very hard to find a person who looks completely white.

Theres only 180,000 spaniards, sons of spaniards and grandsons of spaniards in all Mexico...some of them mixed with mestizos and natives.

The german settlers were no more than 4,000 in all entire history.

This are some pictures of "cibeles font" in Mexico City for celebrating Spain world cup.

Let me tell you another thing. The new immigrants of Spain in Mexico-talking about beginning of XX century-were from Galicia, Asturias and Basque Country, mainly.

The north of Spain is common to see people with light hair that's why a great percentage of spanish colony are of light skin. The people who migratted from Spain to Mexico centuries ago were from South Spain that's why most of people have suranmes as: Garcia, Gutierrez...etc etc
