I don't know if the OP has decided against the Crema Caramel, but I was just at my local HD yesterday and saw that they are selling it for $35 per square foot. I have a small kitchen and I purchased 25 Square feet. I also was able to use a 10% off Lowe's coupon and my total came out to $780. Since the prices are regional, YMMV. But, I'm doing a budget kitchen refresh and thought it was a good deal for a nice looking granite.

BTW, I'm in NW Ohio.

Nice deal. I haven't checked back in for a while. We did end up getting granite but decided to go with Bianco Romano. It increased our price but was at least 1500 less than anyone else if they bothered to call me back. The granite is scheduled to be installed this thursday. Hopefully it all goes well.

Please post photos after the countertop is installed!

I went with granite when I redid my kitchen 3 years ago ... found out much to my surprise that, with all the promos going on, granite was only a tad more expensive than the laminate I was originally going to go with. Three years later, I still love it (I cook a LOT and I have had no problems with staining, but then again, mine is a pretty dark pattern). When I re-do the kitchen at my new house in a few years, I may very well get exactly the same kind.

I am in the process of putting the kitchen back together. Wow, what a job. I added more work by taking out the centers in the upper cabinet doors to install glass. I am hopeful to get everything painted and hung back up by week's end. I used oil based paint for the cabinets and its taking forever to dry but the finish is coming out lovely.

I was all set to go with laminate. I really like the marble look by Formica. Its from their FX line or something. I was blown away by the price! When in the hell did laminate get so expensive? I was told granite was only a few hundred more and my husband squealed like a girl. He has always wanted granite. It was a process though. It was installed and looks amazing. I will post pics as soon as I can.
