I recently purchased this bedspread for my master bedroom. Now I'm having trouble selecting wall colors. I'm thinking three of them a gray tone and the wall behind the bed will be an accent color but what color??? I'm open to any suggestions or new ideas!
based on the bedspread picture and the fact that you want to use gray on the other walls, I think a yellow would work well since yellow goes with grey and white so well. A rug with a little yellow in it is just one option to help tie things together some too. Something with a pattern but not the same as the bed. Obviously you could bring yellow in through other elements as well, but a rug with some color would be nice to contrast the monochromatic bedding set.
I like the yellow idea - that picture is nice. Another color I like with gray is pink, but I realize pink is not for everyone. I used pink once in our bedroom and my husband had no problem with it. Anyway, that yellow room sample above sure looks relaxing.
What about a beautiful rich apricot color? Or some shade of burnished orange? It would be unique and it can look terrific! And it would warm up the gray.
I like Kathryn's ideas, but I'd suggest a rosy coral. I could be as intense as you like. In fact, with gray all around you, why not choose a form of your very favorite color? I'm not sure blue would be a good choice, but almost any other color might work.
How about some wallpaper? I know it is out of favor, but many decorators are using wallpaper instead of the (dreaded) painted accent wall.
If you only want to paint, blue looks super with gray.

Why is an accent wall "dreaded." I like accent walls in the proper setting. I've used them successfully fairly recently. I see them in shelter mags.
I think accent walls aren't AS trendy as they were. The same could be said for wallpaper though. It's all cyclical as far as what is the trendiest. I think both accent walls AND wallpaper can look nice in their own way when used tastefully. (I don't mean simultaneously, I just mean I like both of them).
How about slate blues, pale blues and ocean blues with gray. Makes a very serene room.
