I simply do not see the need for two sinks. I'm a grownup, and as a grownup I am not only capable of waiting my turn. but I also can find things to do while I'm waiting. I can get dressed in the bedroom while the spouse shaves at the sink. He can pack his lunch while I shower. Et cetera. I'm going to need to get dressed and he's going to need to pack his lunch at some point. It's not rocket science.

Unless you're joined at the hip with your spouse and need to be everywhere s/he is at every moment, even the bathroom?
Wow...not gonna argue this with you. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder against people living in the 21st century with a "need" for 2 sinks in the master bath. That's right...I said NEED. To each his own I guess.

Well, the problem is when people overextend themselves, buying bigger houses because they think they NEED two sinks in a master bathroom. And it happens; it's naive to think that it doesn't. That kind of stupidity merits more than just an eyeroll emoticon.

Hmm, I don't see anyone saying they are overextending themselves to get a two sink bathroom.

Just wow on the attitude of some posters.

OMG, I'm so tired of seeing subway tile…white or any other color at this point.
People see an interesting decor choice or finish option and just were it out.
So…..please for the love all interior design -- stop it, with the subway tile!

The people with the worst (or no) taste rely on HGTV.

Add: I'm sick of Tarek & Christina on Flip or Flop. Same old same old sub tile or quartz tile everywhere; and, same grey & white kitchen theme. Now she's into the floor tile that looks like weathered grey wood. She's cute, but her kitchens and baths make my hair hurt.

But why the dislike? What does it hurt to have 2 sinks? It makes getting ready in the morning or before bed easier and quicker. You may not NEED both, but it's a convenience. I don't see the downside.

This thread is about decor you dislike, not what people can afford. You sound like, given a choice, you'd ask to have the second sink removed because you don't like it. That doesn't make any sense.

I understand the two sink issue. I think some couples really need that. For us, it has never been a priority. Since I have lived with my Hubby, we have always had 1 sink bathrooms. We never had a problem with it. We have 3 full baths and it is just the two of us. There is no waiting. We never close the bathroom doors (except when others are here) and we always walk in on each other if we are peeing. But, we both like privacy when doing um...you know. And we both respect that.

We do keep our toothbrushes in the same bathroom and there has been times when I will be brushing my teeth and he will come in to brush his or vice-versa. The other one will just wait their turn.

I've always heard that people that brush together stay together

Indoor bathrooms are a luxury in any form. Why make a big deal about whether or not people prefer one or two sinks? We don't even NEED an indoor bathroom!

The phony country bow-tied country ducks, masses of hanging baskets, "Welcome Friends" signs, and teddy bear motifs of 1980's "country" look. I bought my first home during this highly tacky time period in American "decorating". I went instead with the, almost equally as tacky, mauve carpet everywhere and fake "southwestern" lamps and decorative accents. Ugh. Hurts me to look back at that as much as it hurts me to remember my mother's avocado and orange "mushrooms" kitchen decor in the 1970's.

Is this how shabby chic/vintage/stainless will look to us a few decades from now? Probably so.

Why the snark?

We get to like what we like.

We have not only two sinks, we have two different vanities. And we really like it that way.
