We have had our Simmons beautyrest pillowtop for almost 9 years now. The only think I absolutely hate about it, is that its a no flip pillow top. Instead of flipping you turn it. Its a huge PITA to turn.
Our oldest has a serta pillowtop. Anyone that has slept on it said that it sleeps well.

we were using extra extra firm mattress (which is not available in the US and we bought it when we were living in Canada) for last 8-9 years and yesterday our new visco memory foam mattress was delivered. we tried that mattress in the store and liked it. but believe me i couldn't sleep yesterday because of this new mattress. it is very hard to find the mattress best suited for you. the most practical solution is just stick to the old company and style. we were told by many of our friends who spent almost 4-5K just on mattress that memory foam is the best. but it didn't work for me. every mattress is different, the best one suited for others might not suite you.

best thing is buy from a store which is ready to take it back if you do not like it.

The W Store is actually having a 40% off sale with free shipping.
If I can find the code, I"ll post it for you.

I have read that it is a soft/firm mattress and as side sleepers I think that is what we need. Most of the reviews of it are really great. Is there anything about it you don't like? What made you choose this one?

I just bought a memory foam mattress from Overstock.com...I had originally selected the Sleep Number because I loved the feel and I thought memory foam would be too hot. However, after reading some reviews about the Sleep Number's negative issues, and because I didn't want to spend the 3500 I was going to (this one had the electronic head and leg lift, massage, etc.) I decided to just go the memory foam route. I am SO GLAD I did...each night I look forward to bedtime now...I have back issues and for years getting up was almost something I dreaded due to my back pain ... since I've had the new mattress I get up feeling HEAVENLY. Strongly suggest it. No issues with it being too hot either. Just fabulous. And I recommend Overstock.com also - fast delivery and $2.50 delivery charge - that is correct - two dollars fifty cents. Good luck on your choice.

I hated every mattress I ever had until I bought the Sealy SpringFree latex matterss last year. It's my favorite ever and I can sleep on my back, side or stomach. I opted for one of the firmer models and put an additional 2" latex topper on it to soften things up. It's what the mattress pro's recommend doing instead of getting a pillowtop. Toppers can be replaced but once a pillowtop or extra padded mattress starts to sink, you are stuck with it.
