1932. Really cute house. Lots of work though, since it was a rental home since the 60s and not really maintained. I had always loved the house. One of my first childhood memories was driving by the house and admiring the shady yard, and wanting to live here. Now it's mine and my dream was realized. I'll be ready to move on in a few years to something more modern and easier to take care of.

Mine was built in 1973, my grandparents had it built when my Mom was only 12 years old.

I just bought my first house. It was built in 1936, and is incredibly solid!

Our city home was built in the 1970s but our farm house was probably built in the 1940s. However, the farm property also still contains the original house that was the homestead. That building probably dates to the 1920s.

Mine is from 1930, a shotgun style 'kit' house. The back with the laundry room was added and you can tell since the other walls are almost a foot thick. Thankfully, nobody has done any additions and there was one roof. Seems a common old practice was to add a new roof on top of an old or do it yourself additions.

It may be small, 720sf, but its good for me, and I love the feeling that its got character. My neighbor's mom used to live here too, so I feel like I have to be a good caretaker.

Its been repainted, and it stands out with the bright yellow, but it feels so much better than something slapped together which is supposed to last maybe thirty years. At 84, my house alread has fifty four years more.

Although I've only owned one house (1928) and a few childhood homes (1950s and 1903) to compare, you and I are probably of like minds

How old is your house? (hardwood floors, roof, vinyl, furnace)

My house is 66 years old. I have lived there for 4+ months. (The items in parenthesis? Yes, it has all four.) (???)

Can you imagine the LIVES that unfolded in the really old houses? People were born there, lived there and died there. That is fascinating!

My house was built in 1920. Original house was 1500 square feet, In 1994 a 1000 square foot addition was built with 600 finished square feet in the basement.I bought the house in 1998.Way too big for two people and a dog but would never move. Love the house. It's on close to an acre in the woods.
