Good if you're happy, but a lot of people are allergic to down and/or feathers. They need to be buying pillows (and comforters) with man-made fibers as fill.

Where do you find them? Are you talking about memory foam pillows or regular old-fashioned foam pillows? I have one of these that I love but can't find a new one anywhere.

jason-lu:

I replace our pillows every JAn-Feb-Mar, when the "white sales" go on and they are on sale. I get the medium support, you may differ on support level.
They are usually under $5 at Walmart. I get two for each of us.

The reason I replace, is that while you CAN wash/dry them, the "critters" that grow in pillows {you can't get away from them, even with Allergy sensitive pillow covers over the pillow zipped up} get ugly after a while.
I'd rather spend $2.99 on a new pillow every year for ten years than to spend $29,99 on a supposedly "good pillow" {I HAVE gone that route before an found it not beneficial}.

Best of luck fining a new pillow, but like mattresses they are not designed to last a lifetime.

I would go to Target. They're usually inexpensive and worth it in the long run. I think they're running a sale for Room Essential's "plush pillow" for $3. You can swap them out every few months and save yourself the money. I've tried all the gimmicks out there on the market, and I haven't seen a difference between a $60 pillow and a $3 pillow. Good luck!

TJ Maxx Homegoods Marshalls also have a great selection of reasonable priced pillows

I've gone thru a lot of pillows and finally found memory foam pillow to be the only one that I like. It doesn't get flattened over time (have been using the same one for 2+ yrs) and has the right elevation for me. I got the first one from Costco, and another one from Kohl's. Make sure it's the one piece type (about $25 on sale), not the memory foam clusters variety (about $10-15). It beats getting other pillows that need replacement every few months.

I have a memory foam pillow, too. Bought it from the same store where I bought a new mattress. Very happy with it! I think it ran about $100.

I was in search of the perfect pillow for YEARS. I happened to stay at The Mirage in Las Vegas and they had the most incredibly comfortable down/feather pillows, so I bought some at the gift shop and had them sent to my house. Now I can't sleep on anything else.
