Mach50... I just died at your picture... Goodness!!!!!!!!!

I wear slippers. I can't stand my bare feet on the hard wood floors. My husband & son get barefoot as soon as they come home. I make them wash their feet before they go to bed. My grandmother would never let us get in the bed with dirty feet. I pass on that rule!!

I wear shoes at home most of the time, not comfortable barefoot. I work in people's homes that want me barefoot. I try to oblige but it can be an irritation though, as I'm using ladders, going into attics, etc. Means constantly putting on and taking off. These are often the same people who argue about paying a bill. I've been to 1 guy's house 3 times to price work for him. Dutifully remove my shoes, spend all morning scoping job, explaining options, giving prices, justifying prices answering hypothetical questions and not getting the work. My insurance co. would not be happy to hear of me working barefoot either.

Do we wear shoes in the house? Sure - there is no reason whatsoever not to.

CD oldtimers may remember there was once a very long and occasionally cantankerous thread about Shoes On/Shoes Off. (Actually, by now there has probably been more than one thread on this subject.)

There can be a lot of dirt that comes in from outside, especially if the weather has been inclement--or if you live at the beach, as we do.

I raised my sons to take their shoes off at the door, and have tried to steer my spouse in that direction, with slippers or flip flops or whatever for inside.

Am I a fanatic about it?
No, I try not to be. Life is too short to fret about stuff like that.

As long as I can remember I never wore shoes in the house and neither do my grown children, whether carpeted or hard wood floors. Take shoes off when we come in and either go barefoot or put on a slipper or a Croc.

Yes, but a lot of the time I take them off inside because it's more comfortable.

After I broke my little toe for the third time by running into things, I started wearing shoes in the house.

No - I'm not kidding.

Shoes are regularly worn in my home - and in my area. Saves us from being bitten by unwanted ... "visitors"
