I had the same concerns when selling my car and finally decided to take it to Carmax. Ended up getting a bit more than Kelly Blue Book value for it. I probably would have gotten more money through private party, but the Carmax was experience was pretty quick and painless, probably an hour total.

Speaking as a woman...CarMax is the way to go. Hassle free and they are usually pretty close in price. When selling privately, it is my husband who usually meets up with the party...and always at a public spot. No way do I want buyers coming to my house. If you go the private selling path...be very aware bank checks/cashier checks are very easy to produce these days.( I worked for a Financial Institution for yrs.) Wiring funds into your acct. is the safest bet. And it appears in your acct. usually within an hr or so. Once you have the funds, then you complete the paperwork for the car. Good luck!

LOL! If I was trying to buy a car from someone with that description, I'd behave myself too!

If you work for a big company, you can always post it in the company's wall board. At least they're people working in the same company. Better yet, sell it to a co-worker.
