I love In and Out but who needs it when you have Beck's Prime and Smashburger?

Wow that makes two of you, I guess in your minds that's like unanimous. Are you seriously saying that In and Out is avoiding making money in a city because its perceived to be not as Texan or more humid or industrial than other cities. I think their marketing analysis is a bit more sophisticated than that. I think In and Out is uncertain about the Houston market and doesn't want to take that big of a chance

No, it's not that at all. It's the fact that Houston is so ofter an afterthought to many companies because they have been outsold by Dallas & Austin It's a matter of marketing. I have lived here all my life but I have travelled extensively. I say with confidence that often ignoored Houston is perceived an redneck, cactus, tumbleweeds and polluted air to the rest of the country.
Dallas Is preceived as cosmopolitan, and Austin is percieved as hipster. Houston's planners really need to work harder on its perceived image. We residents can also help by spreading the word of the greatness of this city and all it has to offer.

Uh, what companies exactly are making their business decisions based on stereotypes and perceptions instead of concrete facts and figures? lol. Sorry, your comment made me laugh.

Haven't read thread but...

Employees at three different In 'n Out's in Dallas all told me the same: they're coming to Houston - for whatever that's worth.

I'm sure it does seem that way to people who watch a lot of The Bachelor and American Idol.

Drive-thru convenience vs not-a-drive-thru? Cheap vs not-so-cheap?

I really don't understand how a fast food chain burger gets compared to sit-down-restaurant chains like Beck's Prime and Smashburger?

How much are basic Beck's Prime & Smashburger burgers?

Why on Earth is this such a popular topic? If there's one thing Houston doesn't need more of it's a burger joint.

So what is this really about?
