This photo is the perfect Rorschach test to determine if a person will like Houston. Flash 'em the picture--if the like it, they'll like Houston. If they don't, well...

I hope moving's not a mistake. My visit soon will help me affirm that Houston is for me, Lord willing, and I've been doing thorough research with regard to neighborhoods, safe v. unsafe, places to live, cultural attractions, cost of living, weather, employment, and exploring the pictures and posts here on City-Data.

Last summer was miserable in Nashville, It never rained and the trees and grass stayed dead from the winter all the way until like October, then the cold came again and it died again.

You can find ugly pictures of anywhere. There are a lot of other pictures on the City-Data site that are more flattering of Houston.

Blue skies...

True, but very little of Houston looks like those lovely photos of the Rice/Museum area. Much, much more of Houston looks like the hideous photo posted here. It's not about finding the most flattering picture; it's about what's typical. A sprawling, unremarkable traffic intersection with an endless view of ugly strip malls and generic shopping centers is arguably the quintessential view of Houston.

All cities in the world have intersections...

What exactly is a "strip mall "?

The virtue of Houston is free space,

abundance of it,

no Gotham city feeling.

Interesting question...

So many people care about schools..

Aren't there any private online high schools in Houston,
like the accredited online Universities,
where u study by distance learning,
from your home PC ?

Hello,back again.

The schools issue is so serious that perhaps we might run a new relevant thread.

Logically,if there r online universities , definitely online high schools should already exist
