I agree that this trip should be a breeze. I've done a similar drive twice in the last six months (Des Moines to Houston) and it's not bad at all. The first time, not knowing what to expect, we broke it into two days. The second time, felt it was do-able in a single day. We left around 6am and were safely back in Houston by 11pm the same day. I wouldn't consider it FUN by any means, but it was also not totally agonizing. A few points in Oklahoma where you want to make sure you have a full tank of gas and a fully charged cell phone, but other than that, no problem at all.

I have also done Baltimore-Houston in that same time frame, with an overnight in Eastern Tennessee, because I got a late start in the afternoon. I did that trip in a Toyota Tercel.

Dal Paradise,
We are thinking of doing the same Baltimore to Houston soon. Any advice? We will be doing it with 2 kids; so breaking it up over 2 days. First stop perhaps Knoxville, TN. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
