Awesome, but I imagine it is going to be a traffic nightmare through there while construction is going.

There's an old thread from early 2012 about the expansion. At that time, it was said to start in August of 2012, but apparently that didn't mean construction was starting. At that time, and according to Andy Meyers 6 months ago, the tollway will be extended first to Spring Green with FM 1093 (the non-tolled portion) being widened to 4 lines to FM 359 or thereabouts, and then later the tollway itself will be expanded to 1463. Which means construction out that way for a long time.

If they build it right traffic should not be too bad as land was already set aside for the new road.

Lots of road work going on in FBC. TxDOT is doing a major expansion of I-69 (formerly US 59) in the Rosenberg area. Says a lot about how well FBC is doing economically.

Plan is to start widening I-69 from Spur 10 to FM 762 at the end of this year. A little later, they will widen from there to 99, connecting with the widening they had done in Sugar Land several years ago.

All of the development is going to be headed to Richmond/Rosenberg, Fulshear and eventually Simonton, so it's imperative that they are proactive in upgrading the roadways.

I feel the same way about the Katy freeway. I remember when 99, mason, fry, and barker cypress went over the freeway and there were not intersections with westgreen, greenhouse, or park ten. They stopped at the freeway. The columns at the Cinemark were the tallest things in Katy too.
