Relocating from the mid Atlantic region. I will be working near Webster but my wife travels for work and needs to get to IAH without having to pack an overnight bag!! We're spoiled living in the mid Atlantic region where everything is pretty close. Where should we be looking to live? THANKS!!!

Personally I would not think twice about living in clearlake/Webster. If she can go to iah on non rush hour times it wont be an issue. Also she would have the choice of going through the middle of Houston or around the beltway.

The construction on the gulf freeway isn't going to ever end so you may as well live near your work.

That's a huge gap inbetween Bush airport and Webster. I would look for somewhere in the middle like close to downtown, maybe Midtown or the museum district.

Why on the northern part of Clear Lake (Clear City Bouelavard) and she can take the beltway north to IAH. It is a little over 30 miles but that side of the beltway is not that congested, it will cost her some tolls though.

Is there any reason your wife cannot fly out of Hobby International some of the time ? Hobby is really convenient to Webster and all of Clear Lake...

That's what I was thinking, and use to fly out of IAH. It's about 40 minutes from the Randalls at Clear Lake/Space Center Blvd, and the east beltway flows fast all day unless there is a wreck. You would take Space Center to Crenshaw to the E. Tollway to 59.

Webster would be 10-15 mins the other direction.

I'm guessing tolls would be about $10/day round trip.

Not all airlines fly out of hobby. Guess that depends on OP needs. Guess u could split the commute and live somewhere like summerwood or as others mentioned midtown. Personally I'd prefer clear lake.

But you will have a larger house and yard here. Live in Northern Clear Lake, access to IAH via BW8 is easy.

It's only terrible advice because you're malcontent with an axe to grind agaisnt the inner loop/inside the city.
