I don’t know what people expect from GT?
All I wanted was my kid to be challenged and placed in advanced classes when needed
Sounds like some people want the kid to be placed in a special program completely dedicated to
Your kid

My son has been in GT 9 straight years and I’m very happy with what they’ve done
He could graduate one and even two years early if he really wanted to.
But what’s the point, enjoy High School, you are a kid only once.

I am in FBISD, and my son is in 8th grade. He has been in GT since kinder. He is bored out of his mind in school. I just want him to enjoy school and have some sort of a challenge. Maybe he will be challenged in high school, but honestly, I am not expecting much. He does have a bunch of friends and enjoys his extracurriculars, so at least there is that.

Not looking for any special program. Just wanted to know if the scores are just based on IQ or any other factors.

However its easy to find out , based on the other participants, if the program is worth attending.
