The OP stated that he is also has a potential job offer at Beltway 8 and Hardy Toll road, that's up on the north, northeast side.......just trying to help them understand the implications of each potential job offer.

The company in Bellaire is the one for whom I work here, but are considering me for a director level job if we move to Houston. Nothing definitr

As for the wifes job, the people who contacted her (CFO and Controller) Have been wanting her forvyears. The comaphy here in Tampa where she works now restructured and her position was eliminated

Our house here is $300,000 3000 sq feet 4 3.5 we do jot have to have anything that big to be happy
I am happy to arrive with clothes, cameras guns fishing poles and a few art supplies and a fewvkitchen items like my keurig
Cannot live without morning coffee

700,000 to buy a house is out of the question.

There are a lot of options, but you would get better advice stating your budget. 700k house on your income isn't that crazy assuming you are putting at least 20% down. But I certainly understand and appreciate you wanting to spend much less than you can. It's smart.

Don't forget that here you have to pay a lot more just for not being kicked out of your house. Florida has much less property tax rates (about 1%) compared to 2.6-4% in Houston area.
It could be a huge shock first.

Taxes is huge plus the cost of homeowners association (HOA) fees in suburban master-planned communities.
