I would much rather discuss this bullet train with a civil and knowledgeable person vs. a person who does not know their facts and who keeps ascribing positions to me that I don't hold.

Go do your own homework and leave the bullet discussions to those of us who can engage in constructive discussions.

The reader will note that we have received more excuses why answers will not be provided, probably because the rail advocates want to have a cream puff discussion based on promises and pretty images of sleek rail cars rather than actual verifiable facts and figures.

Still unanswered:

Tell us about TCP's track record.

What other rail lines have they built and operated?

How many miles of track do they currently own and operate?

Added - what experience do the CEO, President, and other named principals have in actually operating a railroad?

(The rail advocates know these answers offhand but refuse to admit them. My comments and questions are to any and all supporters of this project, not limited to any one person. The world does not revolve around any one person.)

The more I think about this the more I begin to wonder if this is not merely a silly pipe dream but an elaborate billion dollar swindle.

Perhaps you need to learn what project management entails.

While you're at it look up the role of CEO's.

Next look up the following companies and learn what they specialize in:

Fluor Corporation
Lane Construction
WSP Engineering

Next learn about Texas Central:

Is Texas Central a railroad company?

Yes. Texas Central is incorporated as a railroad with the Texas Secretary of State, and the Federal Railroad Administration has been working through the regulatory approvals and permitting process for the Texas Bullet Train since 2014. The FRA has only dedicated the time and resources to this process because Texas Central is a railroad.

I can post the link for you but I can't read it or understand it for you...you must do your own work.

ABOUT TEXAS CENTRAL

Next you can read all about the CEO's qualifications here: Carlos F. Aguilar

Since you don't appear to be very knowledgeable about CEO roles or what Project Management is I doubt you will be able to connect the dots.

You must be patting yourself on the back but actually I had already read his bio on not just their own site but others so I am way ahead of you.

Neither CEO or Pres have ever worked for a railroad much less operated a rail line. The CEO has some experience overseeing projects like a LNG facility and solar generating station. I'm sure there is no difference between an industrial energy plant and a public transportation service, though. The Pres has experience in creative financing and investment advice.

The reader will note that this person, contrary to my request, has provided only "references" from the project's own propaganda website.

Hey, I'm the smartest and wisest guy in the world. If you want proof, just ask me.

Oh, and thanks for indirectly answering the questions about TCP. The answer being... none.

Tell us about TCP's track record.
None.
They have no track record. They are a paper company created in 2014 that has no assets or revenues.

What other rail lines have they built and operated?
None.
They have never built or operated a rail line.

How many miles of track do they currently own and operate?
None.
They do not own or operate any track or railcars.

What experience do the CEO, President, and other named principals have in actually operating a railroad?
None.
They have not worked for or managed a railroad. Although the CEO did help arrange a small amount of financing for the London Underground, he had no connection to operations.

And no, don't refer me to information on their website about themselves. Give me an objective external source on exactly who they are, what is their history, and what is their experience? What other rail lines have they built and operated? Pardon the pun, but exactly what is their "track" record?
Are rail advocates really so uninformed and unintelligent that they cannot comprehend what this request means or understand the reasons why you use external objective sources?

And there you have it, folks. Texas Central is a railroad because Texas Central says they are a railroad and obtained a piece of paper from the state calling them a railroad.

A homeless bum, if he saved his change for the application fee, could get a business license as a "software development" company. The bum may not actually own any computers or even have ever used a computer before but who could possibly have any reservations about giving "Bum Software, Inc." millions of dollars upfront on the promise to build a wonderful new website that no other experienced software developers think is feasible? But wait, the bum did manage a McDonald's once.

You have some serious issues and don't seem to understand how projects develop and what the role of a CEO is...nor do you seem to understand anything at all with respect to how project development works.
