It manipulated you into starting a thread about how apparently the Chronicle had a picture of a high school football game on the front page for an hour or two and made you read more into it than there is. Making a mountain out of a molehill, if you would.

All the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and L.A. Times prove is the rich run the city. At least in Houston, you can make a combined 60k a year with a family of four and not have to live in a box under a bridge in Flatbush or next to some crackwhores on Rodeo Drive.

Not that you can't live in a box under a bridge or next to crack whores if you choose. It's just that your options are a little more varied.

But you know that because it was apparently front and center on chron.com for an hour or two that it was a wholesale indictment of Houston's sophistication level. We were the cosmopolitan city of the future and all that jazz, but once that image of the Katy-North Shore game hit that front page we were podunk all over again. And we were on a roll too. Damn you, chron.com.

Oh well, screw sophistication. Did I even spell that right?

So a high school game featured on the front page of a newspaper website somehow makes Houston less cosmopolitan. gotcha. Sweet Jesus.

Not only that, it was intended to try to get people to "defend the city" and its image, and talking about how we're on the level of NYC et. Al. I don't think that it was intended to get the "so what?" response, which is exactly what I put forth.
