There are a couple around town. I think I'm hitting the one downtown.

I didn't know there were any. My husband and I would definitely like to attend. This has gone way beyond ridiculous and has crossed over into downright scary!

Last time I looked my taxes were lower this year than last so protesting would seem odd.

I think it's moved to the Jones Hall lawn due to the massive response. Unsure of the times though. It was earlier in the day when it was supposed to be at Discovery Green. Now I think they've moved it from 4-11? I maybe wrong.

Chris: It's to protest the selective hikes in Federal Income taxes, crazy spending, and the deficit.

That's due to the former administration. The tea parties are for the influx of reversals Obama has planned and has already done, including plans for more.

FWIW, I'm attending a Smart Girl Politics party in Katy and I might be able to head downtown on the 15th with family in tow. I'm interested to see how this all turns out.

Wow are we running a deficit this year? How unlike the previous Republican Administrations. Obama is raising some peoples taxes back to where they were in the hellish days of the Clinton Administration. Hopefully, somehow, the country will survive.

Where were the Tea Parties in Houston when George W. was increasing spending on a record level, lying us into a war, and mismanaging the largest natural disaster in the U.S. this century?

I'm not a fan of Obama but I was even less a fan of W. and the hypocrisy of the wingnuts is stirking.
Whatever your views on taxes are, the worst strategy is what Bush did - low taxes and very high spending.

If you guys were truly committed to the idea of small government (laissez faire on everything from contracts, sexuality, marijuana, guns, etc.) I would be convinced of your sincerity. But since these are Texas republicans we know they are anything but true conservatives. This whole "tea party" nonsense is a cheap political stunt.
