Decided to take some photos of downtown Athens a while back and fool around tweaking the images. This is the street on the west side of the courthouse square. Didn't care for the pavement, so decided to replace it with a storm cloud to give that sense of timelessness that some AL downtowns have.

The Washington Street Courthouse Annex:

South side of the courthouse:

I might do some other variations on scenes in the area.

The third one looks like a tornado vortex swallowed the courthouse whole. Word to the criminals entering those doors - Alighieri's "Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch'entrate"
We're not in Athens anymore !!

Thanks. Normally I do 3-D stuff, but I do like pen&ink and water color wash artwork, used to do a lot of it by hand in my college days. The first one gets fairly close to that. The Washington Street Annex is an uninspired block of a building and I took that on just to see if it could be shown with a little more pizazz. Back to the Future, LOL, yep. Was trying to get a little of the effect of greenish clouds near a tornado, but the Back to the Future image is pretty iconic. FWIW, both the later two had to have cars removed. People kept parking or pulling in front of me when I was making the shots.

I could picture Doc Brown from Back to the Future hanging from the clock on that courthouse, though it may be smaller scale. Fitting, since the guy that ran/runs the largest BTTF website is from Athens.
