I know there are a bunch of threads already out there about moving and I have found them very helpful for a lot of things except one

I am moving down in a month with my husband and we want to rent an apartment for 6 months or so while we house hunt. As I have started looking I have looked at apartment reviews.com and it feels like there arent any nice safe apartment complexes but I know that just cant be so I am coming to yall for some insight

our criteria is 2 bedroom, clean and SAFE (I have read A LOT about break ins and cars being stolen or broken into) at 500-700 a month in madison/ W huntsville, I am sure there is a place out there, thanks in advance everyone!

We used to live here:

Highland Pointe

I'm not sure what the rent is these days, but they were very nice.

I feel your pain about the online reviews. The complexes in Athens are ideal as far as affordabliltiy and condition, but not the drive. I've been researching apartments online since September and the only thing I've been able to determine is that we prefer to live in the HSV SE area. Good Luck and please update us on your progress.

Just remember that (usually) the only people who have a complaint post online.

There are going to be issues with break-ins and such anywhere you go. You'd do much better by picking out some that look nice online and looking in person.

We also lived at Highland Pointe in 2009 and liked it. I was by myself for 2 months before my husband could move and I always felt safe there. We had a 2 bedroom townhome and it was above your budget but I'm sure a flat would be cheaper.
