Does anyone know what's going on at the SW corner of Balch & Gillespie in Madison? That corner of land is being cleared of trees. Another subdivision? Who's developing it?

Are you talking about Jeff Benton's new community, Kingsley at Crown Pointe?

That would be on the Northeast corner. They just started clearing trees on the SW corner (caddy-corner to the new JB Crown Pointe neighborhood) which backs up to Walden & Windsor Park.

I was thinking that corner was not in the city limits but I check the map and it is. The southeast corner is still county. The way they are clearing it makes it look like another subdivision.

I could be wrong but looking at the Madison Zoning Map (http://www.madisonal.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View/232), it seems like it is zoned B-2 Community Commercial.

Maybe it's a Dunkin' Donuts

It appears that just the very front corner is commercial, which as of last week didn't look like they were clearing. However, I have not driven by in a few days, so that could have changed! The land behind the commercial zone, all the way to the existing Walden & Windsor Park neighborhoods, appears to be undeveloped residential.

Good point - I saw them clearing it and assumed they'd eventually get to the corner, but you're right. They were pretty far back from the road.

Interesting... According to the zoning map the strip mall on Hughes where Little Caesars is located is zoned residential R-1A?
