Geez, every year Wilma's ranking goes higher and higher. When she came through, they said she was a Cat 2 with some Cat 3 gusts. Now she was a Cat 4? Interesting.

I think this will move off and scrape by FL, not actually making a direct hit.

I was hoping that one computer model was right and that it would go straight to the Gulf and hopefully up to TX.

NOT because I want anyone in TX to lose anything but because TX so desperately needs the rain and if she had managed to work her way in to the Gulf, she could have picked up strength and given them some good rain.

Sorry, Texas. I feel bad for you guys with this drought and all this never ending heat.

Thanks for the link to the other site about Irene...will be watching;
mainly just to see if my former place of residency is spared or if I have to worry about a few people and a lot of the animals I got to know, there.

It's dry when you take into consideration the aquifer levels around the state. Ten extra inches is nothing to recharge with.

Irene is a cat 2 now. New models should come out in the next few hours, so we will see if the track changes or not.

I think they have it making that turn a bit too early. The 5pm had the storm turning north a bit later then the previous two tracks wont surprise me if it changes a small amount for 11pm. But right now looks like the Carolina's are what will get the worst of it, Strong 2 or 3. Looks like Nassau may get a direct hit. South Florida just some tropical storm type stuff. But still the next 24 hours are crucial.

I ain't skeered. I went through Donna, Charley, Francis, Jean, and a lot more. Besides I'm on a hill. No flooding here. Charley has done removed weak trees. She would have to be a cat 5 for me to see a cat 3.
