I've been wondering the same thing! I haven't heard any of the meteorologists say that, but one on the Weather Channel kept saying how they couldn't believe it hadn't started to turn North.
Our internet was down most of today. Comcast tell us it's due to 'fixing' repairs due to Harvey.
Our local (Houston) news said something about Harvey hitting the warm waters of the Gulf and it'll intensify. Again, I'm not a meteorologist, I just watch the news. I thought the turn had a lot to do with the two high's (upper level winds) and the storm is trapped between them.
Whoever posted that is in a Miami hotel. . .
I hope when the power goes out you aren't trapped in your room and you can get out via stairs because the elevators won't work. There was a news item on a hotel employee missing during Harvey and she was found in the basement, floating near the ceiling. Scary.
Running Northbound I-95 last night from Jacksonville saw many electric company trucks and Tree trimming bucket trucks heading South , ready for the worst.
