I guess this is as good a place as any to ask about buying property on reservations such as in the city of Orofino? Anyone had any experience in that area?

I grew up in Orofino its a great town to live in some people are a little nosy and snoby but you cant really get away from that. Property is priced nicely and the town in starting to look better than it did. people are friendly. I do remember some instances where people move in and have a hard time with the people there cause a lot of the people in Orofino have been there since the dawn of time. and they dont like different it scares them. Orofino is primarly caucasian not a lot of ethnic background there.. but i can garentee in three years I'm gonna take my two little 1/2 mexican children up there and if the maniacs dont like it. they can kiss this maniacs butt... lol.

I want to say that I live in Kamiah, and I couldn't be happier. This town is on the reservation and with that comes a level of respect. I have NEVER had any problems with any of the Nez Perce. They are all very friendly wonderful people. Most are very concerned about their community and do a lot of work to help out and help out with our schools. If it wasn't for the Nez Perce tribe the school district wouldn't have been able to have an all day kindergarten this year. I love where I live and I love the people in this town.

Well, it was nice for you to explain your self!! Marci Bailey also, came out of no where. No one was putting down the Native American's it was about the addiction some have with gambling and has it helped the people.
What's with the comment your Mexican so you jump into things is this a common trait?

I'd say about 75 percent maybe a little more, full blooded mexicans, do it. And I really LOVE to put out there the fact that I am a full blooded mexican and am really proud of it. Everyone should be proud of where they come from. Mexicans, in my opinion, just show it more.

Oh ya, I'M MEXICAN! (LOL)

Default It Could Be Like Kooskia

You said "It could be like Kooskia". What's wrong with it? We are thinking of buying a home in that area. Realtors never tell you all about community, it's best to get it from the people who live around there. So I quess you do.

As for the elk deal the ranchers here do the same with sheep I was very suprised one time driving by a large well known ranch here run by white folk and was during sheeping season that was disgusting. Now that more people are moving in and they are selling most of their land it has cleaned up. I guess every town has its problems you do have to ask question when you move to small towns even Cali has this problem you do not want to just move in anywhere it could be like Kooskia.
