Toyman-

The Elk River Lodge has a store that sells everything under the sun....including gasoline, diesel fuel and propane. Fuels are available in Dreary, but I don't remember any in Clarkia, Bovill or Fernwood.

Hope that helps. Have a great outing!

Thanks Pimit2, it's good to know that. Our trip will leave from Calder, run down Mica Creek to Elk River, where we'll fuel up and play in the area for a couple days, then head back up to the Joe via Marble Creek. Quads only have around a 100 mile range, it's good to be sure that there's gas availabe.

beagle781 is on a distinguished road
Elk River does not have a gas station as far as i know.the closest one is in deary ,or bovill which are less than a half hour from there,so you always, always fill up before you get there.if four wheeling i would definitely recommend taking a couple jugs with you.it is very remote.there is only one little store.one restaurant, and two bars.hope you have a great time up there,i am so jealous that i am not able to make it up there this year.enjoy the beauty of northern idaho, and leave all the hustle and bustle of the crazy city behind.
