I'm an electrician moving to NID this late summer. Anyone know of someone who might be hiring? I haven't called around yet. I'm highly skilled and have served as a troubleshooter and control wiring specialist for the past 7 yrs at the same employer. But i'm qualified to do anything in WA or MT. I just have to purchase my Idaho card. Thanks for any info.

I had a friend in the same situation as you about 6 months ago and the advise I gave him was craigslist Spokane/CDA. 5 weeks later he had a job and been working ever since. Good luck!

It sounds like your more an industrial/manufacturing controls oriented person, PLCs and things like that? If so, there isn't a lot of manufacturing in the area that is that high level. Some thoughts would be to try the various lumber mills. There are a few injection mold shops in the area that are pretty sophisticated, they may have a need for someone with your skills. I can't think of any real machine builders in the area.

There is some amount of commercail/retail construction still going on if that's up your alley.

Honestly, I've only touched a PLC once. But I do everything from Houses to Septics wiring and anything commercial and in between. Theres pretty much anything I CAN figure out. As a matter of fact thats really what I do in my troubleshooting. I once spent two days in front of air control system for a fire department studying it because there was NO schematic. When I was done I had it down. And thats whats they paid me for. SO in short, I can wire just about anything.
