O.K. so let's amuse these morons that believe cheap, illegal labor helps us compete with China and creates many upper middle class jobs and helps us be able to maintian our oversided suburban McMansions. The illegals want to be here and we gain financially, so where's the hurt? Let's see other things that helped make America stronger economically throughout our history.

1. Slavery: The country would never have gotten off the ground without it.

2. Near serfdom level minimum wage laws. Even to this day, many believe it "impedes" the health of businesses in America who are the true backbone that "MAKES AMERICA STRONG".

3. The Electoral college was set up to make sure America's control remained in the hands of only those who (cough, wall street, cough) will make sure that America remains strong. Oh yeah, this system still exists.

4. Dilluting the American population with massive multicultural based immigration weakens solidarity so that those who truly have the pedigree and level of intelligence necessary to "KEEP AMERICA STRONG" are not hindered by Unions and Grass-roots movements.

5. Starting to see a pattern here??????

What's next, start to infringe on internet based political networking? Wait, I believe that is what's allready being done NOW! BUT DON'T WORRY, BECAUSE THE ONLY REASON THEIR DOING IT IS TO KEEP AMERICA STRONG!!!

Don't these things make America strong as well;

1. National solidarity
2. Populaton level approach to environmental protection
3. Advocate a cleaner more quality approach to our national structure, rather than, growth-growth-growth.
4. Our centuries long struggle for the equalization of rights and stature of African Americans not being impeded upon with massive numbers of newcomers who care less of this history and harbor very racist attitudes towards blacks.
5. Promoting a living-wage umployment structure for those of us who didn't have the privilage to attend college.

WE DECIDE, NOT THEM.

Nothing that causes people to break the law is good for the country. It breeds contempt for the rules of the land. Even if it's a dumb law like laws against weed it still hurts the country in a moral sense to have tens of millions of lawbreakers. The same thing happened with prohibition and all these years later there still is effects on the country.

Illegal immigration isn't about good strong wages or building a middle class, it's about rock bottom wages, plenty of cheap servants for the elite.

Also it's not about building a strong USA, it's about building a strong NAFTA which also is nothing but bringing wages down and getting profits for the CEO's very high.

Illegal immigration isn't good any way you look at it. It causes parents to leave behind their children to come here, it's about risking their lives to get to a job because it lowers the "need" for employers to provide work visas which would allow immigrants and temporary guest workers to come safely.

It's great business for the cartels which run the smuggling rings and the counterfeit and stolen document businesses.

It's bad for wage earners in the USA who now must compete for wages with unlimited numbers of people. Labor also has a supply-demand dynamic to it -- when the supply of labor goes down, wages go up. But by making the supply of labor unlimited you get the reverse.

So it's crap that the larger the number of workers available the lower the wages will be and the more competition for jobs there will be?

It is perfectly clear that illegal immigration is bad for the US. It should never have been allowed to occur. It is bad on so many levels that I think it is pretty close to impossible for anyone to rationally propose open borders.

Unfortunately that is not the issue.

The issue is what to do about the 10 million who are here.

At present it appears the standoff is going to lead to no action. Neither deport nor regularize. So we get the worst of all outcomes.

Before it is over we may well pick up another 6 or 8 million illegals.

The only good news is there are only so many eligible Mexicans left.

Longer term a US/Mexican effort to build and support an upward mobile Mexican population could offer the possibility of an open border in 40 or 50 years.

Has anyone noticed a trend toward open border proponents telling people that we have a problem with illegals but the only solution is to let them have their way with us? I've noticed it more and more lately, in much the same way as trying to blur the lines between legal immigrants and illegal aliens.

It also seems to me to be more prevalant whenever a new city or state comes forward with a piece of legislation to try to force the feds to do their jobs.

It's actually sad, in a way, that there are those that think the media propaganda is still effective. Last I noticed the MSM polls very closely with the numbers our legislators are receiving. The media doesn't even appear to try to hide their bias anymore rendering them impotent.

They seem to have forgotten the backbone of the people that founded this country. We will not give our country away because someone tries to tell us we have a challenge in front of us.
