Yes he did. It was congress who failed to keep their end of the deal. They were supposed to pass a bill that provided money to secure the border.

Reagan could have vetoed the amnesty bill and said he wouldn't sign it without funding to secure the border.

(But he didn't.)

Equally guilty.

Should have done something way before those 10 years, i think they could have foressen what was too happen, no scientist genuis brain for this.
The past couple of years it has gotten way out of hand, will we be able to fix this problem, that is so out of control. And how can we when neither side seems to want to do the right thing, boy this really is politics.

I wonder if professors will be singing the same tune when illegals start to steal their jobs as well?

The intellectually honest ones will. Of course, you can't steal someone else's job because nobody owns a job.

It has been that way much longer than 40 years. That has always been the policy going back to the days before the US even officially existed. It is only recently that the ancestors of the European immigrants want to slam the door closed and turn it into an exclusive club. How many people living in the original 13 colonies applied for a work visa prior to setting up shop in North America? If the natives had told them that "illegal is illegal" would they have just loaded up the ships and turned around?

I hardly call having a generous immigration system and welcoming more immigrants than any other country "slamming the door closed".

Not only that but it is a baldfaced lie that the descendants of white Europeans only want "white" immigration. The Spaniards are also white and heaven knows we have plenty here of Spanish descent. Our immigration policies are very diversified. There are actually fewer of anglo white descent coming here than just about any other group today.

Don't ya just love it when they have to resort to the past to justify today's illegal immigration when most of our ancestors either came here when there were no immigration laws or came through Ellis Island when there was? These same people are big advocates for immigration south of our border both legal and illegal so just what does that say about them then? Pot, kettle, black.

Please point out where the word "white" appeared in my post. I think you just gave everyone a big clue to what really bothers you though.
