Kennedy's Immigration Act
By changing long-held immigration policies, the act resulted in new immigration from non-European nations which changed the ethnic make-up of the United States.[5] Immigration doubled between 1965 and 1970, and doubled again between 1970 and 1990.[2] The most dramatic effect was to shift immigration from Europe to Asia and Central and South America.

Quote:
In fact, the 1965 bill made "family reunification" - including extended family members - the key criterion for eligibility. These new citizens may in turn send for their families, creating an endless cycle known to sociologists as the immigration chain. The qualifications of immigrants have predictably fallen. Hispanic immigrants, by far the largest contingent, are eight times more likely than natives to lack a ninth-grade education, and less than half as likely to have a college degree.

The bill did not end discrimination based on what President John F. Kennedy called "the accident of birth." (This of course begs the question of whether birth within the nation, the basis of common national community, is just an accident, but let that pass for now.) It de facto grossly discriminates in favor of Mexicans and certain other groups.

You see no reason to complain? How about they come here legally? As long as they come here illegally I certainly will complain. All of Greece should be able to move here? You're kidding, right? Raise the cultural level of America? Don't we already have every culture on the face of the earth living here? What's wrong with our own culture? You want to erradicate it?

Yes, and I posted a link to the percentages of both legal and illegal immigrants that are in our country. Latinos by far hold the highest percentages. What happened to diversity?

Yes. They bypass the other countries because the other countries won't make it so very very easy for them. They might have to work 40 hours a week or something in some other country, get here and their worries are over, they can work if they feel like it but if they don't or can't work, no problem, our government provides the very nicest standard of living to all, no one is allowed to fail, no illegal is ever tempted to return home.

Greece has a extremley low birth rate. They need to keep their country men at home. Immigrants legal and illegal comprise a large percentage of Greeces population. Greeks use to take pride in coming to America the legal way. Sad to see Greeks sinking this low.
