I believe there is such a law on the books---I would be very surprised if it was ever used.
I have a great idea !!! Bring our troops home from Iraq, build a wall on the southern border with Mexico, deploy M1A1 tanks to secure the wall with full troop support, and give orders to defend our border with any force needed. End of immigration issue with Mexico. Put our tax dollars to work for us, not everyone else.
OK, if Mexico won't take back its own people, we can send them to Guantanamo. An electrified fence and some well-placed land mines would take care of the problem, too. After a few dozen captured illegals were sent to Guantanamo, and a few dozen would-be illegals were blown up or electrocuted, the problem would be solved.
We have landmines planted all around the area surrounding Guantanamo, so it's not like we haven't done it before.
Los Angeles Times: Michael Chertoff related that if there is terrorist attack, people will demand that our southern border be closed right away and that all the deportations will continue to tear families apart.
Of course terrorist cells of different levels have been in L.A. for years now.
