[/SIZE]What would a day without illegal aliens really be like? Let’s try to imagine it.
On May 1, millions of illegal aliens working in meat-processing plants, construction, restaurants, hotels, and other “jobs Americans won’t do” are supposed to stay home from work to show the importance of their labor to our nation’s economy. Doubtless, there will be some inconvenience if that happens, but there is another side to the story that is not being reported.
We are talking about illegal aliens, not mere “immigrants.” If legal immigrants stopped working for a day, we would miss the services of physicians, nurses, computer programmers, writers, actors, musicians, entrepreneurs of all stripes, and some airline pilots…as well as the CEO of Google. That would be more than an inconvenience, but it won’t happen because legal immigrants are not out marching angrily for rights that are already protected by our courts.
But if illegal aliens all took the day off and were truly invisible for one day, there would be some plusses along with the mild inconveniences.

I don't know what would happen, if it's just a day maybe not much, maybe just some shortages in manufacturing plants, farms, food processing plants and that's it, some goods not delivered in time, delays and minor complications.
if it went for more time, then things would get more serious, prices would rise, shortages would get worse, salaries would have to rise, making us enter into a prices/wages race which would lead to hyperinflation, the dollar would plummet and with it, mortages, loans, retirement funds, etc and maybe then people would finally realize that illegal immigration should be legalized.
Maybe that's what we need although it would be painful and hard.
The only positive things of this would be that American goods would become as competitive (at the cost of life standards) as chinese or more because of the sharp drop in currency value, and that people would finally realize why their own government wants illegals, instead of legals (cheaper, no rights, easier to control, can be used as scapegoats or political bounty)
all this imho I might be wrong, but that's what my intuition tells me
Tancredo is a smart guy, and has studied this issue for many years. He's one of the ONLY clear voices in Congress regarding this illegal immigration debate.
It's funny, cause all those groups blame "the white man" for THEIR problems!
(Minus gays, who of course are all colors).
it's funny, because all that racism and hatred exists in a nation with white majority, and a government that is nearly 100% white. i guess the oppressed have a point, huh?
who do you blame for the ostracizing of those groups in years past?
