people should demand their citizen rights--- in their own country. by executive order illegals are given student financial aid and the by exective order BP transported busloads of illegals from texas to california and dumped them on our streets without papers except an appt for a court date, and 70% did not show. shame shame federal government.
a shameless end run around the san ysidro fence by our own law enforcement.
when the law breaks the law there is no law.

It wouldn't be my transgression if I had no knowledge that my parents brought me here illegally. However, on the other hand I shouldn't be rewarded for my parent's sins/lawbreaking either. If you're here illegally you are subject to deportation and rightly so.

Would you self-deport?

If I were brought here illegally as a child, as soon as I turned 18, I would make an effort to correct my status. If that didn't work out and the government told me I had to go back to my country, I would abide by the law.

Way to avoid answering the question. I'll ask again, what do you believe would be a just punishment against you for the transgression?

I answered your question. I believe I should be deported regardless of how I got here (justice running its course). I wouldn't consider being deported to the country I was born in as a punishment. My parents here illegally should also be deported.

I would be holding this mess against my parents and prior to turning myself in I would first implore my parents to do the right thing and self-deport as a family.

I would first try to correct my status as the law allows for people who were brought here as minors to do so. If I wasn't allowed to stay, I would abide by that ruling and leave the country.

For example, if I reached college age and wanted to attend college in this country, I would apply for a foreign student visa because that's what I would be---a foreign student. When my time in college is through and I had no options to stay here legally, I would---to quote you---self deport.

What would YOU do if you were brought here illegally as a child (or are we not talking hypothetically in your case) and reached the age of 18? Would YOU do the right thing and either work to adjust your status or would you "self deport"?

Why should lawbreakers be allowed to "correct" their lawlessness? Why should there be any process for these illegals to be rewarded and allowed to say in the US?

I don't believe in punishing the son for the sins of the father. I don't think any adjustment should be necessary. I think kids who were unwittingly brought here and grew up in the US should be given citizenship. So no, I would not self-deport. I would do exactly what Jose Antonio Vargas did.

How is one being punished by being sent back to the country they were born in? You have an odd idea of what punishment is. Besides I look at it differently. It's about not rewarding the parents for what they did. If we start allowing these kids to become citizens of our country don't you think this would just encourage more law breaking parents to come to our country illegally with their kids in tow so that their kids can gain citizenship in our country? Oh, and just like clockwork these kids would be crying separation of families if their parents were deported but demand citizenship for them also. We've heard all of these sob stories before.
