Some do not if they overstay and are housewives. Is this the majority? No, but not everyone is a criminal.
Whether they overstayed their Visa or snuck in they have violated the law and at the very least breaking immigration laws. Personally I would keep make it easier for the people who benefit us all by doing jobs that we have the most difficult time filling with temporary Visas.
The bigger issue no matter how noble the cause is that it promotes the idea that illegal behaviour is acceptable.

Absolutely agree on all points. A guest worker program would be beneficial as long as it's highly regulated
Unless they are living in someone's basement and never leave they are breaking other laws. Driving, working not paying taxes, stolen SS number are starters. Secondary are having kids and enrolling them in public schools, etc. If you weren't here illegally you wouldn't be costing me a dime. You'd be surprised how many do that, especially those who come over and overstay visas. Definitely not the norm, but possible. I've seen many k1s in my time overstay and not adjust status due to lack of funds or a sponsor who end up staying at home. It's just as illegal

I wouldn't want to be here right now living in fear. Oh well, they are just as likely to get deported as someone sneaking across the border. Fair game under Trump. They may even be easier to find due to addresses.

The suppprt went from fantastic to horrendous overnight. Im an Aerospace Engineer in Defense and its vital that we have capable fast IT suppprt when we are down. Our average delays went from an hour to days with imported workers. So, IT saved a huge amount of money, while Engineering and other departments suffered delays(money).
The ludicrous part is when these companies claim they cant find locals that are educated enough to do the IT jobs
