Will the future of the Mexican economy continue to look bright? And in the long term, will this lead to a slowdown of illegal immigration to the United States?

Mexico should be prospering. They have sent 10-20 percent of their illiterate low-skilled citizens to the U.S., and are receiving billions in remittances each year. They have also rid themselves of millions of their criminal element; not to mention the billions in revenue from their illicit drug industry.
If the U.S. could send all of its welfare recipients, and millions of its prisoners and criminals to another country -- while receiving remittances from said citizens, we would be prospering as well. Rather, our tax dollars are being squandered on a multitude of benefits and services for Mexican illegals.
It’s a no-brainer, and no surprise that Mexico doesn’t want their illegal aliens in the U.S. to return. They do not want their gravy train to end. No, it will not curtail illegal immigration. If anything, it's more incentive to encourage their citizens to leave.

Although its still regrettable that even after the proven fact that almost 80% of all illegals into the US are from Mexico, the US Federal Government still has a dismal foreign investment record to Mexico. The US should reevaluate its investment policies with Mexico.
