Keep an eye open for any bill purportedly for temporary workers. This reminds me of the sneaky tactics they used to try to pass the DREAM Act by attaching it to a seemingly unrelated bill involving Iraq War stockpile.

Quote:
A spokesperson for the grassroots immigration organization Numbers USA says House Democrats are having behind-the-scenes discussions about creating a special visa for illegal immigrants — a proposal they believe will enjoy considerable Republican support.

Rosemary Jenks is director of government relations for Numbers USA. She has learned that members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are spearheading the effort to approve a plan that would allow any illegal alien living in the United States to simply prove they have a job, pay a fine, and pass a background check, to receive the gift of legal status for five years.

The five-year visa plan would be attached to a bill that would increase the number of temporary workers in the hopes of getting Republican support, she says. Jenks contends this is an attempt to stall the deportation of illegal immigrants until they can get full amnesty.

“Rahm Emanuel [a Democratic congressman from Illinois] has said publicly that he doesn’t believe that they will be able to get the full-scale amnesty passed until the second term of the next president,” she states. “That, of course, puts it right about five years from now. So the hope of the Caucus is that they can this so-called temporary visa — a five-year visa for illegal aliens — passed, and then when they’re able to they can get the full-scale amnesty.”

Jenks supposes that Democrats are afraid that should either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama be elected president this year, passage of an amnesty plan during a first term would likely preclude the Democratic president from being re-elected for a second term.

Dems Plot Five Year Amnesty Plan Behind the Scenes

The five year amnesty plan theory is interesting. However, since the Dems have huge majorities in both the House and the Senate, I think Harry ass and Queen byatch Pelosi are just arrogant enough and impatient enough to try to pass an amnesty bill THIS year, 2009. That would give them plenty of time to register all of the newly amnestied illegal aliens as new Democratic voters prior to the 2012 election and maybe the 2010 election. With the Dems constant blatant nauseating hispandering all of the IAs are getting antsy.

They may in fact be arrogant and stupid enough to try another shamnesty. However, I suspect they will remain true to form, and try to sneak piecemeal amnesty into other bills hoping no one will notice. As our economy continues to tank, more people are taking their heads out of the sand; and they are PO’d big time. Amnesty would be a mega mistake for these traitors.

Never happen, not in this economy. Another amnesty means the under the table, slave labor pool is immediately extinct.

Bingo! But, they MUST at least make an effort, to make it look good. They want the status quo, and nothing else. The last thing they want is 20+ million more legal residents vying for legal wages.

And I will apologize up front for using the 'race card' here: if Obama signed off on any sort of amnesty for illegal aliens bill............our American Blacks would be uber pissed----------and, rightly so.

Exactly. Harry and Nancy must at least make an effort to pass amnesty this year to keep la raza happy and pro Dem. When it hopefully fails they can point to the bad ole Repubs for it's failure. Frankly wouldn't that keep ALL of the amnestied illegal aliens in the Democratic camp? Actually, the last thing laid off middle and lower class americans want in this recession is 20+ million newly amnestied illegal aliens vying for legal wages. And, actually, what Harry and Nancy really want most is 20+ million newly amnestied illegal alien Democratic voters for the 2010 and 2012 elections.
