This opinion is so ridiculous it's laughable:
"Fight the illegal flow not just with more armed guards, but with more visas."

Yes, with all the Americans who are unemployed now we need to give out move visas to unskilled, uneducated illegals who will drain our taxes even more.

"The hunt for violent fugitives and gang members languishes while the authorities chase after every last janitor and farm worker."

Last I checked, they haven't done too well with either one. I can see the border guards now, "janitor, go, car washer, go, painter, go, drug dealer, stop."

That’s as ridiculous as saying the solution for flooding is more sand bags. How the heck is issuing more visas a solution for border control?

Is it possible for a failing newspaper like the NY Times to be bribed by a traitorous lobbyist group like the Chamber of Commerce, just to name one, to run ridiculously absurd and asinine articles like that one which furthers the agenda of the Chamber of Commerce, which is paid to push for more visa workers for the corporate elites? Or, is the NY Times just stupid enough to run ridiculously absurd and asinine articles like that one on it's own?

I vote for the former. The IA Chamber of Commerce has very deep pockets.

Agreed. May I use the term IA Chamber of Commerce too from now on?
