Its not PC to hold these criminals accountable.
"Ramos and Compean were charged with shooting at Osvaldo Aldrete Davila, who ran to Mexico after he was shot in the buttocks in February 2005. It was later found Aldrete was transporting over 700 pounds of marijuana while in the U.S. illegally. U.S. officials gave immunity to Aldrete for that drug run in exchange for his testimony against the two agents.

A jury found that Ramos and Compean not only shot at an unarmed Aldrete — although the agents claimed they thought he had a gun — but then tried to cover it up by picking up the shell casings and omitting details of the incident on their report."

If Ramos and Compean hadn't tried to omit the details from the report and stated beforehand what they did, I don't think they would have ended up in trouble.

One would hope, but it is doubtful.

Yeah, border crossing is no joke. And not cheap...somebody I know shelled out 2K to get her family here. They knew others who recommended and vouched for the coyote they used. However plenty of people aren't that lucky and get robbed or raped or even murdered by those guys.

Or just left on a Truck cage with no air.

I'm ashamed of the Mexican government take on coyotes. It's like they didn't exist. There's a huge ring of corruption letting these bastards operate, from immigration (letting coyotes bring people from Central America to cross to the US), police, customs (no checks when entering or leaving).

A change in policy would render Coyotes extinct. Imprison and fine the employers, randomly deport people working jobs Americans can do and no one would be willing to commit a criminal act of paying them to attempt it.

Actually this is a perfect example why need alternative methods (guest worker, amnesty, DREAM, ect). When you outlaw something you create a black market. Guess who runs the black market? Actual criminals that commit rape, murder, etc. Coyotes are a part of the black market that rose due to barriers to entry.

Actually; we need to fortify our southern border, ramp up E-Verify, eliminate the Anchor Baby loophole, make it a Felony to knowingly hire an illegal, etc. for starters.

I remember reading up on prohibition, and the interesting thing that struck me was that alcohol consumption increased as people put more and more pressure to cut down consumption. Do you think that this could happen with illegal immigration (creating, what that1guy said... a black market)?

I strongly doubt that...........if anything; with our high unemployment rate--------it is becoming riskier all the time to hire illegals.
