Wow! I've seen these grades on illegal immigration before but not lately. So we can analyze the grades as follows: D grades: dems 67 repubs 2; F grades: dems 135 repubs 4 STUNNING!!!!

So, as I've said many, many times, this is proof positive that, currently, the majority of republican politicians are fighting illegal immigration and, currently, the majority of amnesty democratic politicians are fighting the republican's fighting illegal immigration.

This doesn't sound like amnesty in the making to me. I don't think the pro-illegal crowd are going to be happy with this part of his speech.
it will be brought up in the future, he didn't speak about amnesty. We can have both, amnesty & secured borders

The hell we can! The vast majority of Americans just want secure borders without amnesty. What part of Latinos being kicked to the curb by a hispandering amnesty democratic President don't you understand?

<<it will be brought up in the future, he didn't speak about amnesty.>>

Obama is a politician. He'll say or do whatever it takes to keep himself, and his party, in power. The future isn't looking good for amnesty either. As more and more people enter the country illegally, or overstay their visas, amnesty will become more difficult to sell to the public. When there were a couple of million illegal aliens here, no one paid much attention, but when there became so many that citizens were inconvenienced, and saw the changes illegal aliens were demanding, people started turning against them. Marching in the streets, carrying flags of Mexico, and demanding rights, made many people aware of just how pervasive the problem is. No country likes to be told it must change to accomodate people who shouldn't be here in the first place, and the more attention the issue gets, the more people are turning against amnesty, or any kind of fast track to citizenship.

The best thing for anyone who wants to become a citizen, and a productive member of this society to do is go home, and apply legally, before they get caught, and deported. If that's not their goal, we don't need them here.

That sure didn't work with the last amnesty, after the last big amnesty it was like the flood gates were opened and millions of people came flooding over the border to demand yet another amnesty.

It cannot secure the borders because the next demand is unlimited "family reunification" where all the long lost relatives of illegals will be allowed to come here and join them here. In fact the whole reason so many want amnesty is because they want to more easily bring over the extended families and have the whole family -- tias, tios, primos and primas, abuelitos and abuelitas and all the spouses and children of them here.

Family reunification can ONLY happen in the USA you know. And "family reunification" is all part of the big amnesty demand.

You missed the gist of Obama's speech though. He said "those who play by the rules". That eliminates every illegal alien in this country.

No, giving amnesty once again will encourage more illegal immigration just like it did since 1986.

I hate to break this to you but part of the left wing amnesty progressive democratic propaganda says that if after immigrating (breaking in unwanted and uninvited illegally) to the US an undocumented immigrant (illegal alien future democratic voter) who then plays by the rules (ie doesn't have a rap sheet for ID theft, etc., at least on file) can be put on a pathway to legalization (amnesty). With a Saul Alinsky desciple community agitator in chief like Obama, one can never go by what Obama says but what Obama actually does after what Obama says.

<<We can have both, amnesty & secured borders>>

Nope! Been there, done that. We were promised secure borders, and 'there will never be another amnesty' in 1986. Why should we believe it would be any different now? Why would anyone think repeating the same process would produce a different result? The pro-amnesty people had their chance, and failed to live up to their part of the bargain. The first thing they have to do is secure the border.
