I did not see a list. The IL banks and credit union I am familar with did not play Wall Street games, did not make questionable loans, and did engage in third party sub-prime risky ventures. They did not bet on horse races, they bet on farmers annd ranchers.

Banks can fail. Some of them need to fail. Accounts less than 200K are guaranteed by the FDIC. I do not know if this applies to interest bearing accounts like IRA or not.
