The Bureau of Labor Statistics provides information for those of us who are really digging into the numbers

http://stats.bls.gov/soc/socguide.htm/

For Illinois Labor Market information you can get the raw data on wages and occupations at the following link.

http://lmi.ides.state.il.us/

But! Now here is the question: The data shows the wages for each classification in one table, and the type of occupation in another table, the state has conveniently omitted the actual number of workers counted in those occupations. If I could merge the two tables, I could determine the spending power of the workforce in each county.

Is there information like that already in existence somewhere? I've been looking for it for years.

I am going to suggest two things.

A. Learn how to write a URL. Our vBulletin ignores all Windows code except what is already offered.

B. The spending power is the sum total of the wages in each county.
If you want to know the per person spending - you need the number of people
If you want to know the average spending per job classification you need the total number of people and the total wages for that job classification.
