Any Suburban School is a very good choice.
IPS isn't terrible but its considered the worse school district in the metro but it also has the most resources. As i said if you know how to play your cards right IPS is actually a fine option cause they do have magnet schools and charter schools within the system. Plus the School Voucher law i mentioned earlier.

Cool--then I guess I'm back to the original question: Are the East Avalon Hills and Spring Mill areas pretty nice?

I think you will be able to find some great mid-century homes in very decent neighborhoods if you look in the area south of Kessler and near Broadmoore Country Club. That is not a far drive from IUPUI either.

Devon-Shire east and Avalon Hills areas are Lawrence Township schools.
