Greetings!

I'm not actually looking for a church. My wife is! I believe in the father, son and the holy ghost just that I'm not the churchy type.

My wife is african-american and she's looking for a small to medium sized congregation to join. A church with a mixed crowd would be great. She practices the baptist faith. What she isn't looking for is all the dancing and skipping down the aisle durning the service. Might be fine and good for some she doesn't care for it. A solid Amen, Praise the Lord along with a meaningful preach it from the congregation once in while is fine.

We're on the northeast side around 62nd and Binford. It'd be great if she found a chruch to belong to. Nice way to meant people and gain a few friends!

I hope somebody can help!

Thanks ever so much!

There is a pretty good baptist church near 71th and Keystone. I don't currently go there, but I have in the past and it is pretty good. There is no dancing down the isles for sure. Not exactly a mixed crowd though - sure there are some african-americans that attend the church. Maybe 5% or so. Not sure. It is a southern Baptist church - pretty conservative.

Let me do a quick search and see if I can find a few others near you.

Oops - didn't tell you the name of the chruch. Northside Baptist church - it is on 71th street, east of Keystone and halfway between Keystone and Dean Road on the south side of 71st

here is there website http://www.worshipfortoday.com/headwaters/ (broken link)

- it is about 95% white, so if that is not what she is looking for

I think he goes to the church near 46th and Michigan road, so does my former neighbor. Very large church, but I don't believe it is a Baptist church

You might want to try "Eastern Star Baptist Church". It is a very large church(close to mega church standards) that has 3 different locations in the city. Center of the city, North east side and north west side. All races attend the church. I think they even do a service at one of their churches in Spanish. Very informal also with a pastor who is in his 40's. Here's their web site:Eastern Star Church - "Where Jesus Is Exalted, And The Word Is Explained"
