So Tax refund is coming I think, it should only be around $2,000 as I didn't work much last year. My old 18k chain I bought for $200 broke a while ago, so I'd figure I'd buy a new one. It feels so weird not wearing one lol. I also have some interest in Rolex. I don't have any need whatsoever for $2,000 and my jewelry stock is hella low. I'd figure I buy something for $2,000. I'm leaning towards buying a Rolex and then a cheap $200 necklace, but I'm also leaning toward buying a $2,000 chain and using my current watch. My question is, what do you recommend, and does Rolex keep its value?

A cheap $20 digital watch. I like have a countdown timer that follows me around at work for stuff that requires precise timing.

Since this is the investing forum, I'll be the first to suggest putting it in you taxable portfolio so it can grow.

The whole business of digging for the cellphone in the netherlands of a handbag... (ok, even if in a special pocket/compartment, still the business of unzpping-taking it out-finding which way is the phone to locate the power button-pushing the button-still remembering the pocket of the handbag is unzipped-deciding between keeping the cellphone in your hands or not (if yes and it is raining or yes and you are in a public transport and have to hold both your bag and a bar to balance - that adds another branch in the process) - in either case have to re-zip the pocket.... While re-checking before the level of sound (is it off? on? which one do I need at this particular moment?)... throw in an umbrella... toddler... full shopping bags...

Scratch all the above - just lift your wrist to your eyes....

Get your nice gold chain fixed by a good jeweler; buy a Citizens Eco watch with some diamonds ($350), or a nice Movado, and either one will run forever.

Give the rest to a Disabled Veterans charity. Be thankful, and sleep well.

I have had many Rolex watches during my lifetime, all different models and my wife has a Rolex that she never wears because it does not keep time and it has been serviced at least once and it still did not keep good time, so IMHO they all suck at keeping time, now I have an Omega Seamaster, not the quartz one, and it keeps almost perfect time, I do have to change it maybe once every other month maybe one minute, the Rolex watched had to be changed every week and even after they had been back to the local factory techs many times. Put your money into a 401k.
