Most people here do talk about daily fluctuations and often make weekly predictions.

Market gyrations over a week or a month or 6 months or a year can give one whiplash. The trend over time has been upwards, thank goodness. Even taking into consideration every drop, crash, recession, correction the trend has been upwards overall.

This is why I wish more people would focus on the overall historical trend. It is very difficult to time the market.

It is harder than it looks. You will waste a lot of time and energy - and of course money - trying to do so.

Trump cannot help shooting his mouth off on twitter every other day, no new highs for six months, could well drop to 2500

Agree 100%. Better not to focus on anything to do with the market. One can become financially independent and ultimately reach retirement just from the magic of compounding over the decades, without having to suffer any anxiety about the numerous cycles that occur over those years.

Things can surly change if the playing field is equalized. Work at home ...manufacture at home....spend at home. Many countries do it for less because of the USA piggy bank...
