This is one that I certainly would buy as a long-term holding, but to me it seems like a situation where there's no rush to get in.

I don’t own individual stocks for anything but quick attempts at a profit … individual company risk is not something that my long term portfolio needs or wants in retirement.

Yes, I'm well aware of your feelings on this subject. I'm kind of the opposite. There are lots of stocks I don't care to own, directly or indirectly. Most of my equity exposure today is in the form of direct share ownership, probably about 90% of the total.

Different strokes...

Today is the last day of production of Henry's Private Reserve. A super premium beer, by a major regional brewery, appearing in 1976. I will sorely miss you.

The hard seltzer market is very competitive and Sam Adams misjudged demand …

Personally I don’t care for them …I am not a lover of alcohol in the first place but there is a taste to that cane alcohol that I just didn’t like

SAM is good for a nationally available beer. Their seasonal offerings are usually pretty good.

You did much better than I did on this one; I went in a bit too early. But at these prices, I feel like a lot of the risk has already been wrung out of the stock. I'll stick around for a bit and see if I can walk away with a few dollars

Assuming a case of Sam Adams is $30, you can now either get 1 share of SAM, or 21 cases of beer with some change left over. Which would you rather have?
