I am getting ready to rent a condo on the beach to get a feel for which communities or good and which area I like the most. My question is how much does condo insurance typically cost for beach front property?

I know condo fees run around $400-$500 per month at the places I have looked but didn't know if condo fees only covered your belongings because the community is responsible for the upkeep of the buildings and grounds.

Any help or estimates would be appreciated
Thanks
CJ

I'm renting a house in Atlantic Beach and my landlady is responsible for the insurance on her property, just as your landlord would be for his property. What you do need is,

HO4 – Renter's Insurance
The "Tenants" form is for renters. It covers personal property against the same perils as the contents portion of the HO2 or HO3.

It is available from just about any company that offers Homeowners Insurance Policies, and the cost is negligible. I'm paying about $25 a month for about $250,000 in coverage with USAA.
