The lady who called and said that if I'm not currently working she has a open position for me and to call her back. Now, this woman works at the "sister" company of the "Parent" company I'm waiting to hear back from this month. So I'm wondering why I received a call from the sister company first and nothing from the Parent company. The sister company is not in walking distance from my apartment but I do live down the street from the train that takes me right to the job. Also I'm not sure if it's a similar position with similar salary. So I will call back in a hour or so to find all of this out. Part of me is saying-"take the job and forget about the distance" since I don't know for sure if the Parent company will call me back.
And why would the sister company receive funding before the Parent Company?
Also since me and this woman have a great working relationship I don't want to decline the offer in the wrong way especially since she thought enough of me to call about a job offer in the first place. Well I will see how this goes.
For sure, you have nothing to lose by talking to her!
Good luck!
Well I just got off the phone with her and she offered me the job at their branch and said I received a great reference from HR at the parent company. So tomorrow they want me to come out and look at where I will be working so I will be there in the morning.
I didn't want to keep waiting around for a phone call since it's going on two months now so it makes sense to go ahead and accept the position and move on to something new and different.
little bit, i just have to get used to the train ride everyday.
