Okay, this is a very vague thread - and it's intended.

I have a pretty big phone interview tomorrow afternoon. I've done tons of these in the past, but this one is for an incredible opportunity and I want to make sure that I nail it. Some may remember my post a couple of weeks ago about considering an opportunity with a lot of travel for a very large salary increase. It is actually for that same position!

If you could give any advice to someone going into a phone interview, what would it be?

OK. I'll give you advice you might not find on google. Keep your resume and job description in front of you. If you have an Iphone or blue tooth, use the headphones to talk over your actual phone and stand up.

This right here. Perfect.

I do tons of phone interviews and THE WORST is the people "toothin" you. Get to a landline, or at the very least, use a wired headset in an area with good signal.

And stand up.

Be positive and ask at the end - "Do you have any further questions for me? What are the next steps?"

Make sure you are standing during the interview

Maintain a upbeat and pleasant tone

Have your resume in front of you

Use a landline phone

End the interview asking what the next steps are in the interview process

Also, do the above in the nude. It will take away the butterflies.

And tell them you are "naked right now."
